To apply to Istanbul Medeniyet University (IMU) for Erasmus+ Student Exchange Program, your university needs to have a current Inter-Institutional Agreement with IMU and you need to be nominated to study at IMU. You can find here the list of our partner universities.
BEFORE MOBILITY
STEP 1
Contact your Erasmus+ Department Coordinator at your Home University, if you intend to study at IMU. Before your applications to IMU, you must be officially nominated by your home university. If there isn’t an inter-institutional agreement between our universities but you are interested in studying at IMU write to the Erasmus+ Coordinator of our University and suggest the implementation of an inter-institutional agreement. If they are willing to cooperate, we will establish an inter-institutional agreement and after this agreement, you can proceed to the next step.
STEP 2
If you are officially nominated to study at IMU, your Erasmus+ Office or your department coordinator must inform Erasmus+ Office via email at intero@medeniyet.edu.tr. The nomination email includes your personal contact information, your area of study and study cycle as well as the desired mobility period (fall/spring/full academic year).
Deadline for applications and nomination for fall term/full academic year: June 15
Deadline for applications and nomination for spring term: November 15
Nominated students will have 30 days to complete and send their documents to the IMU Erasmus+ Office.
STEP 3
Check the Courses Available at our University. At this address, you can find the list of subjects available at our University. You will use them to fill in the learning agreement. Please pay attention to the fact that your learning agreement should only contain courses that are taught during the period of your stay.
The ECTS Learning Agreement must be signed by the student and the academic coordinators both at the home and host universities. Please click here for the list of departmental Erasmus+ coordinators in IMU.
If you have academic questions concerning the curricula of a certain program or if you are unsure about the language of instruction of a course you can always contact the IMU Erasmus+ Department/Faculty Coordinators. A list of coordinators is available here. Please make sure to CC us (intero@medeniyet.edu.tr) for the follow-up.
STEP 4
The following documents should be scanned and sent to intero@medeniyet.edu.tr upon nomination to apply to IMU as an Erasmus+ student:
- Learning Agreement (fully signed)
- Official transcript of records
- A scanned photograph
- Application Form for Incoming Students (Click here for the document)
The completed application form and learning agreement should be signed and stamped by your local Erasmus+ Office before sending it to us as a scan via e-mail at intero@medeniyet.edu.tr. Note we do not accept handwritten/incomplete documents.
UPON MOBILITY
Upon arrival, the following documents should be submitted to IMU’s International Office for official registration.
- Learning Agreement (fully signed)
- Official transcript of records
- Student certificate
- Passport copy (a copy of the 1st page)
- 3 photographs (4,5 cm x 6,0 cm headshot photos in which the applicant is easily recognized and taken in the last six (6) months)
- Printout of the "Application Form for Incoming Students"
- Health Insurance (not Travel Insurance), which is valid and obtained from a company with a center/office in Turkey. (Because the Immigration Office has strict regulations and may demand a new one, it is highly recommended to purchase health insurance in Turkey upon arrival.)
AFTER MOBILITY
After you have completed your study program, a Transcript of Records will be handed out by the Faculty and the ECTS for the subjects mentioned in the learning agreement will be integrated into your curriculum at your home institution.
This transcript is sent to your home University and your private email after the deadline for grade presentation. Before you depart from IMU, you should visit our Erasmus+ Office to obtain your Certificate of Mobility and the Official Transcript of Records.
